Ghost Ship
These are photos of the American Mariner. She's a Naval target ship about 13 miles south of Hoopers Island. Wikipedia explains her past; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USAS_American_Mariner
A deserted hulk, and I'm not one to find out if she's haunted or not:
The bow:
Looking North from mid-ship, she's been hammered by Naval training:
Opposite side, this portion of the ship is exposed to the elements, and shows the wear from wind and violent seas:
Her Stern:
Supposedly, this wreck will hold good numbers of fish. On the day these pictures were taking, we didn't catch anything. However, it was early in the season. I'm anxious to get back and try to fish around her again. Supposedly, there is another ship sunken close by, but it is only visible on the lowest tides.
