Mixed Bag
Hunted out of Hoopers with Dave Sikorski and John Willey. We had a great morning. Though we did not end up with a full limit, we had better variety than I have ever had in Maryland. It was an awesome hunt.
We hunted out of layout blinds on the shoreline, here John Willey sits up for a stretch from his blind:
I nailed my first MD redhead, which Fin retreieved, like the redfish earlier in the summer, shooting a redhead is not an easy feat because of their rarity in this area:
By the way, propecia doesn't work...
Fin Retrieves a pintail:
We shot this bird over Dave's hand carved cork pintail decoys:
This is a picture of our bag for the day, we ended with 3 gadwall, 1 widgeon, 1 redhead, 1 pintail and 1 black duck. Not pictured is the merganser I shot:
Back at SHTS, the wall shot. Shannon and Jeremy (not pictured) also shot the same area and had a good morning as well. The birds on the wall are all the ducks shot that morning. Standing in the picture, from left to right are me, Dave Sikorski, John Willey and Shannon Brockmeyer:
